Project Png

Leading China Tour Operators for Private & Custom Travel

Tangora Travel is a local China specialist — one team on the ground from your first message to the day you fly home. We plan with you, travel beside you, and answer at any hour in between.

No two of our itineraries are the same, because none of them come off a shelf. Every route is drawn by people who grew up with these places — guides, drivers and planners who know which alley hides the best noodles and when the light hits the Great Wall just right. That knowledge becomes your trip.

Embark on a journey to every corner of the Majestic China!

The first question

Do you need a visa for China?

Less often than you might expect. Here is where the main passports stand, as of July 2026.

Australia, New Zealand, UK, Canada

On China’s 50-country visa-free list: up to 30 days for tourism, nothing to arrange in advance, no onward ticket needed. Announced to run to 31 December 2026.

United States

Not on the 50-country list, so tourism normally needs a visa. The one exception is China’s separate 240-hour (10-day) transit rule — only for a genuine onward journey to a third country, on a confirmed connecting ticket, within the permitted regions.

Singapore, Malaysia

Not on that list either: both travel under their own mutual visa-exemption agreements with China, up to 30 days per entry. Malaysian passports carry extra conditions of their own.

We can help you prepare, but admission is always decided by border inspection when you land. Rules change — check with the Chinese embassy or consulate in your country before booking. Last checked 15 July 2026.

Where do you want to go?

Plan your adventure your way

Real travel happens at street level — tea with a host family, a recipe learned in someone's kitchen, a story told by the person who lived it. That is the kind of contact we build every journey around, at your pace and on your terms.

Every detail was thought through — our guide knew exactly when to reach each spot before the crowds arrived. Walking the Great Wall at sunrise, almost alone, was worth the whole trip.

Permits, altitude planning, oxygen on the vehicle — everything was handled before we even thought to ask. Standing at Everest Base Camp beside our Tibetan guide is a memory I will keep forever.

David K. · Tibet Private Journey
★★★★★

I traveled solo and never once felt alone. The team checked in daily, and the Zhangjiajie itinerary balanced the big sights with quiet corners I would never have found on my own.

Emma R. · Zhangjiajie & Chongqing
★★★★★

Five countries, one seamless route. The border crossings that looked intimidating on paper turned out effortless — and the group felt like old friends by day three.

Michael T. · Five Stans Group Tour
★★★★★

Traveling with two kids, I expected compromises. Instead, our consultant built days that worked for everyone — the pandas in Chengdu won the whole family over in about five minutes.

Priya S. · Chengdu Family Trip
★★★★★

The food alone was worth the flight — hotpot in Chongqing, hand-pulled noodles in Xi'an. Our guide's local picks beat every list I had saved from the internet.

“Every peak and every drifting cloud holds this land’s own Eastern romance.” Rooted in the front lines of China’s most iconic landscapes, Jason believes the best journeys are never assembly-line tours — they’re led by a guide with deep local roots and an international outlook. Years of hands-on guiding have taken him across mountains, lakes and old towns with travelers from around the world, away from the crowds and into the real pulse and street-level warmth of this ancient country. His craft is award-proven: gold medals in the English group of the Zhangjiajie “Huangshizhai Cableway Cup” Guide Competition 2026 and of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park’s first English–Korean Interpreter Competition, silver at the 2026 Hunan Province Guide Competition, escort interpreter for the Tianmen Mountain Wingsuit Flying World Championship and the World Photography Conference, and English MC of the Zhangjiajie World Heritage Photography Exhibition’s opening gala.
